How to Extend the Footrests on Your Wheelchair
Everyone is built differently, so making sure your footrests are the right height is the secret to a comfortable ride. The footrest extension consists of three parts that need to be properly aligned to adjust the height. Follow these steps to ensure a secure fit:
Step 1: Prepping the footrest
- Identify the Multi-Thread Tube (the small black and silver part with multiple threaded holes).
- Slide it into the Lower Footrest Tube (the bent silver tube connected to the footplate).
- Just twist it until the holes on both pieces are lined up nicely.

Step 2: connecting it to your chair
- Take the fully assembled Lower Footrest (which now has the Multi-Thread Tube inside).
- Insert it into the Upper Footrest (the vertical frame of the wheelchair).
- Again, align the holes on both parts to ensure they are level.
Step 3: Secure the Footrest
- Once all the parts are correctly aligned, insert the securing bolt.
- Make sure they are tightened properly to prevent any movement.
- Test the footrest by gently applying pressure to ensure it’s stable and locked in place, then you’ll be ready to roll!
Need to make a change lateR?
- If you decide you need the footrests a little higher or lower, it’s an easy fix! Just repeat the process by adjusting the position of the Multi-Thread Tube before securing it.
