How to Fit the Footrests on Your Wheelchair

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Identify Left and Right Footrests
    • Each footrest is side-specific.
    • The footrests fold down into the centre of the wheelchair – this helps you identify which is left and right.
  2. Position the Footrest
    • Hold the footrest so that the rubber stopper (peg) is pointing downwards.
    • Line it up with the mounting socket on the front of the chair frame.
  3. Insert the Rubber Stopper
    • Gently lower the footrest into the socket.
    • Wiggle slightly as you push down β€” the rubber tip creates friction and may need a small amount of movement to seat properly.
  4. Swing Inward to Lock
    • Once the peg is fully inserted, swing the footrest inwards towards the centre of the chair.
    • It should click into place when the release latch engages with the frame.
  5. Check Security
    • Lightly tug on the footrest to confirm it’s locked and secure.
    • If it feels loose, remove and reseat it, making sure it’s pushed down firmly and latched.

πŸ”„ To Remove the Footrest:

  1. Lift the black release latch upward to disengage it.
  2. Swing the footrest outward away from the chair.
  3. Pull the unit straight up and out of the socket.
